On March 19, Member of Knesset Meirav Ben-Ari visited Leket Israel’s Ra’anana Logistics Center. MK Ben-Ari expressed admiration for the dozens of volunteers who filled the warehouse, sorting and packing rescued fruits and vegetables for delivery to the needy throughout Israel.

CEO Gidi Kroch told MK Ben-Ari about the Food Donation Act that Leket initiated. The purpose of the law is to protect food donors from liability for damages that may be caused by food donated in good faith. The act was granted a preliminary reading in March 2016, and has been stuck in the Justice Ministry since then.

MK Ben-Ari agreed on the importance of the law, saying that she would help promote it in all appropriate channels.
